New Place de la Madeleine, a restaurant dedicated to the tasting of the famous Kamchatka Royal Crab, fished since 1870 off the coast of Alaska. This exceptional variety of crab is the most popular in the world for the delicacy of its meat, full of marine flavors. Umbert and his friends love this casual atmosphere.
Etiquette: If the crab is husked it is eaten with a fork and a knife. If it is not husked, you have to use the crab claw after breaking it in 2. The server will be happy to explain.

Before finishing your shopping, Umbert invites you to discover the Galerie de la Madeleine, 9 places de la Madeleine 75008 Paris. Built between 1840 and 1845, the two façades and the glass roof are magnificent.
Etiquette: Before trying some shoes, it’s important to check the cleanliness of the shoes you wear, as well as the socks, which is a sign of respect for the sellers.
- Hairdresser 18:00 – 19:00
This month Umbert decides to discover a hair salon which has received the prize of the most beautiful hair salon in France, and it is not a legend! An unforgettable moment for your eyes and your hair. Let an expert hairdresser guides yourself.
Etiquette: Do not hesitate to do a quick shampoo at your hotel before going to the hairdresser. It’s a mark of respect for the staff.
- Dinner 20:00 – 23:00
One of the oldest restaurants in Paris, but also one of the first gourmet restaurants. Umbert chose the Duck Foie Gras & Cherries and the Rhubarb Lobster from the Chausey Islands. Enjoy the Majorelle decor from the late 19th century. A gastronomic moment!
Etiquette: Umbert always thinks of asking his guests their preferences for the wine. If a guest is vegetarian: do not panic, choose a light-bodied wine, perfect for the vegetables.
- Cocktail 23:00
A mysterious address, and a decoration that mixes Pop Art and Orient. Umbert and his friends enjoy the exceptional “Old Fashioned” cocktail, and especially enjoy the Parisian night…!
Etiquette: If you drink a cocktail with a straw, stop before the end to make no noise with the bottom of the glass.
2) Day 2
- Coffee & Croissants 10:00 – 12:00
A real curiosity! Umbert likes to have breakfast in this beautiful and warm 18th-century setting. It is also the temple of gastronomy before starting a day full of emotions. Enjoy the many pastries, croissants, and pain au chocolat.
Etiquette: Never drink coffee with the spoon in the cup. It must remain on the plate.
- Exhibition 12:00-14:00
Umbert had a breathtaking experience during this “immersive exhibition” as he walked through the paintings of Gustav Klimt, with the sound of the waltzes in Vienna. More than 3000 moving images, and characters coming out of frames. A fairytale and magical universe to find Klimt and the women, the gold and the Viennese artists, as well as the spirals of Hundertwasser which are the link between the birth and the death.
Etiquette: During interactive exhibitions, do not run or talk loudly. To participate does not mean to gesticulate!
- Brunch 14:00 – 16:00
Atmosphere and recipes of the old times, in this restaurant, with red checkered tablecloths, to sample grandmother’s chicken soup with foie gras, and the famous Astier special rum baba. A delight!
Etiquette: Only the waiter holds the bottle of wine by the bottom to serve it. If he doesn’t, hold the bottle by “the body” to pour the wine into the suitable glass.
Leaving the brunch, Umbert goes to the hippest Parisian men’s health shop. A soap maker creates organic soap without palm oil, shaving soaps for dry skin, oils for beards, in plastic-free packaging. Don’t miss it!

Since May 5, 1862, the Hotel de la Paix, later the InterContinental Paris Le Grand, and the Café de la Paix are real institutions, famous throughout the world. Umbert loves the Second Empire elegance, frescoes, and gold everywhere, facing the flamboyant Opéra-Garnier. Umber orders the famous croque-monsieur!
Etiquette: The croque-monsieur is eaten with a fork and a knife, not with the hands.

The 1920s in Chicago, prohibition, jazz, passion. Umbert had discovered this musical on Broadway in New York, but he loved seeing it again in Paris, always amazed by the choreography and history.

This very Parisian cocktail bar has a surprising mix of the 1970s and Aztec statues. Other surprises: a jacuzzi under the stairs, or the possibility of buying pajamas to continue the party! Kitsch and chic spirit for an amazing and explosive place. Umbert and his friends will sleep late in the morning, a habit in Paris.
Etiquette: In this place where the party is at its maximum, do not forget to respect the others and the area.
3) Day 3
- Brunch 11:00 – 13:00
Do you know why 1,900 red geraniums decorate the front of the hotel? This is the testimony of the love story between Jean Gabin and Marlène Dietrich. The Plaza is an haute couture hotel where luxury is in the details, and not in extravagance. The hotel is a flower paradise in spring and summer. Umbert enjoy a fantastic brunch with his friends in this incredible place!
Etiquette: The party has finished late! Drinking water seems necessary. Flat or sparkling water? Ask what is your friends preference, knowing that the sparkling water gives more flavor to the food.
- Exhibition 13:00 – 16:00

Cédric Grolet, elected “Best Pastry Chef of the World” in 2017, creates this beautiful tea time at the Dali restaurant in the Meurice hotel. Under the beautiful Art Nouveau glass roof, in plates signed Bernardaud, you will taste the white chocolate tart and pear, the lemon cookie, the coffee tart. Umbert can only say one word: fantastic!
